From what I've heard, iOS is more rentable. Android apps carry a bit of the open source philosophy. I think that Android allows more freedom to the programmer than Apple does, so I personally chose to start on Android. But the answer to which one is best is a bit of a subjective one.

Apple/IOS language is a bit easier to learn and use by design my motto there is creativity by simplicity' its definitely more limited than Android SDK JAVA Dev Environment although Android is a more fragmented langauge its defiantly has the potential for more complex applications. Final thought Apple/IOS for the general population this is why they sell so much average people want something simple to use. Android for the speacilzed geeky crowd....Murphy's law: Build something that any fool can use and only a fool will use it.
