Help Please :D On a phase diagram, the melting point is the same as______? The correct answer is freezing point, but can someone please explain why this is, I don't understand the logic behind this.

When something is melting, that is when a solid transforms into a liquid. It stands to reason that whatever temperature that is, it is the same value when the opposite (freezing) is happening: liquid transforms into a solid. In practical terms, ice melts to water at 0 degrees Celsius, and water freezes to ice at 0 degrees Celsius. It would not make much sense if these temperatures were different.

Thank you! :D
