if the triangle is a 45-45-90 triangle then using soh cah toa

sin(45)=7/hyp

7/sin(45)= hyp

Hypotenuse=9.90

This looks more complicated than special triangles.
However, you do have enough information to solve for the length of CD= (x+4) in the drawing.
