Come up with 2 real world examples of situations that use function rules. Think about your daily life, your home, or the community you live in for ideas. Then Create a table of values showing at least 4 input and ouput values for each of your two situations. You may need to come up with some mock values for your tables.

You need real world examples of functions. I'm not actually going to give you these situations, but here's what I would say about functions that I think will help you. A function is something that is useful whenever the OUTCOME depends on some other thing. So, any question where you would ask me "What will happen to this?" and my answer will have to be "Oh, it depends on _____________," then there is a good chance that it is a function. Here are some examples. "How much gas will it take your car to get us there?" "Well, it depends. It depends on how far it is." That's a situation where a function could be useful. The amount of gas you burn is a function of how far it is.
