This is what it say on my lesson plan.... May help? Mass is the term used in science for what we commonly think of as weight. The weight on one side of the fulcrum times the distance from the fulcrum must be equal to the weight on the other side times the distance.
oh then we can derive a formula out of this M=mass D=distance from fulcrum so M1D1=M2D2
so using the info given M1=x M2=53lbs D1=4.5ft D2=6ft
