Suppose you roll an eight-sided die two times hoping to get two numbers whose sum is greater than . What is the sample space? How many favorable outcomes are there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops there are \(8\times 8=64\) elements in the sample space, but something is missing from the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

greater then 10

Parth (parthkohli):

I think you should list them all down on a paper :/ let's see what sat has to say. P.S: I'm 99 now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah you need to list them, there are a lot. the list will look something like (3,8), (4,7) (4,8) (5,6) (5,7) (5,8) (6,5) (6,6) (6,7) (6,8) (7,4) (7,5) (7,6) (7,7) (7,8) (8,3) (8,4) (8,5) (8,6) (8,7) (8,8) count them up and divide by 64

Parth (parthkohli):

Triangular numbers....I see

OpenStudy (anonymous):
