What is the probability of rolling a sum of 5 when rolling 2 dice? Option A: 1/36 Option B: 1/18 Option C: 1/9 Option D: 5/36 Please explain!!! I don't get this!! Ahhh!
look at your sample space there are 36 possible outcomes and the possible outcomes to roll a 5 are (1,4),(2,3),(3,2), and (4,1) so there are 4 ways so 4/36=1=9
So the answer is 1/9?? i am sooo confused!!
yep
The sample space when 2 dices are rolled: $$ \begin{array}{c|c|c|C|} &1&2&3&4&5&6 \\ \hline 1 &(1,1)&(1,2)&(1,3)&(1,4)&(1,5)&(1,6)\\ \hline 2 &(2,1)&(2,2)&(2,3)&(2,4)&(2,5)&(2,6)\\ \hline 3 &(3,1)&(3,2)&(3,3)&(3,4)&(3,5)&(3,6)\\ \hline 4 &(4,1)&(4,2)&(4,3)&(4,4)&(4,5)&(4,6)\\ \hline 5 &(5,1)&(5,2)&(5,3)&(5,4)&(5,5)&(5,6)\\ \hline 6 &(6,1)&(6,2)&(6,3)&(6,4)&(6,5)&(6,6)\\ \hline \end{array}$$
@ParthKohli heyyy how come I can't message you anymore??? It says you only get messages from people you have fanned..... idk why though hahaa
@FoolForMath and @alexwee123 so the answer is c then??
