A museum worker randomly displays 5 historical writings in a row. What is the probability that she lines them up from the oldest to the most recent from left to right? Options will be posted in a biT!!! :) Thanks for the help! And please explain!! :)
Any ideas?
none at all! haha super confused...
There are 5 choices for the first slot 4 for the second 3 for the third 2 for the fourth and 1 for the fifth So there are 5! = 5*4*3*2*1 = 120 different ways to arrange the writings
I don't get it though hahaa
Remember that n P r uses factorials It turns out that n P n = n! So 5 P 5 = 5!
so the answer is option C?? or option D??
A actually
1 over 5 P 5
option A is the answer?? For sure??? haha :)
because there's only one way to get the order right out of 5 P 5 = 120 ways total
so the answer is option A 1/5P5????
yes
cool! thanks :)
