how do you guys do the psets? i just completed unit 1 and am opening up the first pset. i had little to no problems doing the work for the first unit, and felt good going into the problem set but i am slightly overwhelmed with how big the set is and the difference in difficulty from the previous work. some stuff i am rusty on from highschool, some stuff though i feel i never learned properly. anyway back to my question, are you supposed to do the section of the pset along with the session it covers, or all together at the end of the unit?
I just completed problem set1, but only worked the listed problems, not the entire set. I worked it at the end of the session, and I too found some of the problem very difficults. I'm not sure what is the best approach, other than practice practice and practice.
i hear you... i am coming from a pretty weak hs background so the problem sets are just a little much. i am so rusty with stuff like completing the square, and equations of various geometric shapes and stuff. im doing well with the lecture material though. i think i will start doing the psets section by section with the material so it's fresher in my mind and i can spend more time "de-rusting" the more complex algebra and stuff. thanks for the input though!
yeah I know, I had same issue, I have spend the past 2 years de-rusting :). It has been about 20 years since I last looked at a math textbook, and it has taken me almost 2 years to get up to a level where I actually 'mostly' understand 'most' of what I'm reading. But I had to start back with elementry algebra, then college algebra, precalculus, and trig, and finally I'm 'here'.
