when graphing on a number line how do you know whether to do a closed or open circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A closed circle means that it includes the point, an open circle means that it doesn't include the point. So, if you have a \(\le\) or \(\ge\), you'll use a closed circle, but if you have a \(<\) or \(>\), you'll use an open circle.
