Evaluate -(77). My answer is 77. I'm not sure. Need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imagine it written like this 0 - 77 what would you think the answer is then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-77

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct, -(77) and 0 - 77 are kind've the same thing.. except with 0 - 77, you have subtraction going on, and with -(77), you have multiplication. another way to write -(77) would be (-1)*(77), or negative 1 times 77. all you are doing is "pulling out" the negative sign from -77, and putting a -1 in front. -77 = (-1)(77) it's just another way to write it, math = re-writing things lol
