Need help with five short questions c: Write the plural possessive form of each noun for the first three questions . 1. friend 2. box 3. house Rewrite the possessive noun where necessary for numbers 4 and 5 . If the noun is already correct, write correct ! 4. Many people were astonished by (scientists’) discoveries in the twentieth century. 5. Alternative energy sources had to be developed to satisfy (peoples’) need for electrical power.
1- Friends' 2- Boxes' 3- Houses' 4- Correct 5- People's
Are you sure? I thought it was Friend's, Box's and House's
It says "Plural possessive;" so I think the noun (Friend) would turn into plural (Friends) and then into possessive form (Friends'). The possessive form of any word that ends with S would be " Nouns' ". Peoples' is wrong, because people itself is a plural noun. So its possessive would be People's. Hope it helps.
I took the test, my answers were Friends', Boxes' and Houses' and I got them right. So you were right. I just didn't understand plural possessive form completely.
