rewrite the equation \[\frac{x}{x+3} = -\frac{2}{5}\] multiply each term by 5(x+3) then 5x = -2(x + 3) expand 5x = -2x - 6 add 2x to both sides 7x = -6 divide by 7 x = -6/7
