56^= 9 over x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

56 squared by what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! someone replied!! I didn't mean squared! I meant 56 degrees = 9 over x. I know its confusing because I can't write it out but its a tangent ratio I guess.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I accidentally put squared, I ment to say "..to the power of what?". And hang on let me do this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there anyway that you can post the whole question? Or is that it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

~( *_* )~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! I have a picture now!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh it looks crappy -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nah it's straight.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay good. Do you know what to do? NONE of my teachers (all math) didn't know -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I'm not too too acquainted with tangent, but I think that I 24/x = 56. So 24*56 = 1344. x = 1344. That's the best that I could come up with...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24/1344 = 56. But that doesn't make sense...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll try it right now :) Thank you regardless!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was wrong. Its a hard equation though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Soh Cah Toa sine is opposite/ hypotenuse = Soa cosine is adjacent/hypotenuse = Cah tangent is opposite/ adjacent= Toa

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry that I couldn't help...but if you can't find the answer here, then copy/paste it onto google, someone might have the answer their.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See, There was a more simple equation that said "tan x(degrees)=0.3 and how I got THAT is tan-1 which is the inverse on the calculator and it came out correct. So I just don't get the fraction in the one I showed you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I'm lost here, what level is this (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, etc.)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Geometry but I figured out how to do it. Its easy. Your just ending up dividing 9 by tan 56 degrees.
