In a career, such as Veterinarian, what does targeting minority groups mean? Plz explain and be there to help if I am confused.
Minority groups are people who might be discriminated against for reasons such as gender or race. Targeting a minority group means giving them extra help like admitting them to college with lower academic standards or preferentially hiring them to make up for other peoples' discrimination.
Um. In the case of Veterinary, does this mean whether they will aid pets or wild animals that are in need of help?
Well that is what all vets do - whether they are members of minority groups or otherwise. But doesn't the question ask about minority groups in specific?
Um. It ask whether the career, in this case Veterinarian, targets minority group. That's all the info provided.
Not unless some vet schools admit minority groups with lower academic standards than they have for ordinary students. Or some employers are more willing to hire vets of minority groups than other, equally qualified applicants. This is really a subjective question, not one about science, which is why I can't give you a very good answer... Overall, I would say no, this career does not target minority groups.
Well, thanks for all the help you gave me. And srry for posting it in this section cuz it was the closest I could think of since it is associated with biology. Ty. x3
Not a prob. Sorry I wasn't more helpful. :( And yes, Bio is the best section you could have posted it in, though it does defy easy classification. All the best to you!
