Solve. √(x+8)-6 = x

Parth (parthkohli):

Add six to both sides then square both sides.

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow \sqrt{x + 8} = x + 6 }\) \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow x + 8 = (x + 6)^2 = x^2 + 12x + 36 }\) \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow x^2 + 11x + 28 = 0}\) \(\Large \color{Black}{\Rightarrow (x + 4)(x + 7) = 0 }\) x = (-4,-7)

To solve this problem use distributive property, so, first thing you do is times -6 by 8 and x, giving you -6x and -48. now, find the square root of those two numbers, and subtract x by -6x leaving you with -5x, -5x - -48= X. smuf..

I think I might have done something wrong in the square root part, but then again.... lets compare the two answers.
