first subtract \[\frac{1}{3x+9}-\frac{2}{x+3}=\frac{1}{3x+9}-\frac{6}{3x+9}=\frac{-5}{3x+9}\] then you have \[\frac{-5}{3x+9}=2\] so \[-5=2(3x+9)\] \[-5=6x+18\] and you should be good from there

\[-23=6x\] \[x=-\frac{23}{6}\] is the finish
