what is the physical significance of momentum? As in how to relate it with practical life?
it is complettly related with life .its eguation is product of mass and velocity mass*velocity .as we increase the mass the momentum increase if we increase velocity then momentum will also increase .it depends on twice factors...
now we take a daily life example:suppose in the first case a man is walking on the road suddenly a bus driver dashes against that man with velocity v.. now in the another case if a cyclist dashes against that man with velocity v then in which case do you realize more hurt.. which physical quantity says about this is known as momentum... it is a vector quantity and it is the product of mass and velocity vector...it lies along in the direction of velocity... \[P \=m times v\] here m is the mass and v is the velocity in the scalar form.. note: when the mass is constant higher the valu of v higher the linear momentum...and if v is constant..then higher the mass higher the momentum... Now think above daily life example you will find that in the case of bus man will be hurt more because the mass of bus is more than cycle and velocity is constant in both the cases so linear momentum of the bus will be higher than cycle therefore in the case of bus man will be hurt more..
