|-2x + 10| > 28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ -2 x + 10 > 28 \\\text { or }\\ -2 x + 10 <-28 \] Do you understand the above?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ -2 x > 18 \\ x < -9 \\\text { or }\\ -2 x < -38\\ x> 19 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is x < -9 or x > 19

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just a suggestion. if you want to avoid the annoying negative coefficient, convince yourself that \(|a-b|=|b-a|\) and start with \(|2x-10|>28\) makes no difference, but then you can solve without switching inequalities

@eliassaab i think it is x<-9 or x>9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@saumya No, if you take x =10 \[ |-2 x+ 10|= |-20 +10|=10 < 28 \]

ok . got it .. sorry for wrong answer
