Where is Social psychology heading?

OpenStudy (wolfboy):

I found this for you its from a separate link because someone else had the question before you so here you go This is a very... philosophical question, you know? Any answer to this question could be right or wrong. On the one hand you could say that Social psychology is stuck as a field, because it is unable to draw new conclusions or find new, substantial, innovative research subjects, but on the other hand: is that so? As a whole, the entire population is heading somewhere, even if in the smallest amount: there is development. Following this logic, if people develop, then the scientific fields surrounding humanity have to follow as well. Social psychology is a soft science, but it can explain just so much. So, where is it heading? Can we say: further progress? It is not heading towards a full-stop -that is for sure. Perhaps Social Psychologists are trying to develop new ways of collecting statistical data? Or finding new fields or instances for experiments? I am quite certain that there is someone out there trying to be the second Stanley Milgram or Philip Zimbardo, trying to make a breakthrough in the field.
