Write (8a^-6)^-2/3 in simplest form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where do you think you should begin? Inside the parenthesis, or outside?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 1/4a^4 when i did it is that right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(1/8a^6)\] raised to the -2/3, or \[8a^6\] raised to the 2/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, i skipped the first step of flipping the numerator and denominator to get rid of the negative in front of the 6. 64a^12 raised to the 1/3 power

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the cubed root of 64 is 4, 4*4*4 = 64 and the cubed root of a^12 leads to 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer I have is 4a^4, but not 1/4a^4 so our answers are different right now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what the question looks like and these are the answer choices a.a^4/4 b.4a^4 c.1.4a^4 d. none of these

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So my answer was B.
