A fief of some kind. A fief is something that technically belongs to the lord, but which he grants to me (and often my descendants) as a sort of irrevocable trust. In return, I usually acquire some kind of obligations to the lord -- some feudal duties -- such as helping defend his lands in wartime, a tax in kind (a share of crops harvested from a fief of land), or perhaps just executing his justice.

A fief is most often a grant of land, but there are some other possibilities -- it could be the right to collect taxes, or graze animals, or perhaps collect customs in a port, or cut wood from a forest.
