OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

is \(2y + \sqrt{x^2 + y^2}\) a homogeneous function?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@TuringTest pls help :D

OpenStudy (phi):

a function is homogeneous of order n if f(tx,ty) = t^n f(x,y) if we plug in tx and ty for x and y we get 2yt + sqrt(t^2 x^2+ t^2 y^2) 2yt+ t sqrt(x^2+y^2) t ( 2y + sqrt(x^2+y^2) t f(x,y) so yes, it is a homogeneous function

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

lol yeah..figured it out later on :S hahaha

OpenStudy (phi):

good, it's always better to get the answer on your own....
