Part 1: Create and provide the dimensions for two similar figures of your choosing. Part 2: What is the similarity ratio of these figures along with the ratio of their surface area and volume? Part 3: Show your work, either using the actual volumes or using the formula, that the volume ratio is true. I get the first part but... i am having troubles with the second part and the third one but... since i don't get the second one there in not really a way i could to the third one! Help meee please!
help meee out please i really need this!!
did you already have a 3-dimensional figure in mind? how 'bout just using square prisms? they're the easiest to compute those quantities you want...
pick a cube, Cube A has edge length 1 unit Cube B has edge length 2 units (2) the linear ratios or edge length ratios A:B is 1:2 Surface Area ratios A: B 6: 24 or 1: 4 this is the square of the edge ratios 1^2: 2^2 volume ratios A:B 1:8 which is the edge ratios cubed 1^3: 2^3 Volume of cube A: V = 1 x 1 x 1 V = 1 Volume of Cube B: V = 2 x 2 x 2 V = 8 the ratio holds true
thank you!
