How do I find the exact value of cotangent 7pi/6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the unit circle. 7π/6 is the ordered pair (-√3/2, -1/2) Then, use the fact that cot is x/y and plug the values in. (-√3/2)/(-1/2) = √3 is the answer.

So the 7 next to pi tells me how many segments I should count to find the ordered pair?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. I take it that you're just getting used to radians?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I am. Thanks for your help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure. Just letting yo uknow, 7π/6 = 210º

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah ok, thanks!
