A sweepstakes offers a first prize of $10,000, two second prizes of $100, and one hundred third prizes of $10. Which measure of central tendency vest represents the avaliable prizes? a. interquartile range b. mode c. mean d. range
Not entirely 100% sure on this one, but I think that the mean is the best way to represent the available prizes because you can do a weighted mean (so you effectively add more importance to the values that pop up more often than the others)
Of course, if you're only allowed to stick to those three prizes, then the mode is also valid (since the mode represents the most frequent value)
@rebeccaskell94 What would your guess be? =)
lol didn't think to google, but I found the answer here http://teachers.sheboygan.k12.wi.us/sdamrow/documents/AA12-6pdf_000.pdf
