Which of the following describes how polluted water sources would most likely affect one’s personal health? Answer Bacteria would enter the body and inhibit a specific immune response. Microorganisms would release histamine, causing inflammation and swelling. Infectious agents would prevent the immune system from producing lymphocytes. Pathogens would invade the body and cause disease, such as giardia.

I'm pretty sure it's not a).

This would definitely affect the person's overall health, by the overall pollution that is present in the water. After it is ingestion into the body, the non-point source pollination that is present, will often contain toxin contaminants, or some sort of chemical present in the water. Often, this will contain a bacteria or a virus (also know as a pathogen), that will be found in this water. We will expect a person to exhibit a disease, after they have ingested this water, due to the bacteria or virus (pathogen), which is now present in this water. Now they could expect to exhibit from the pathogen either (just to name a few that I can think of): --Cryptosporidium parvum- they will have infection, which will include diarrhea, anorexia, nausea/vomiting, or even abdominal pain. --(Giardia lamblia)- which I believe is one of your answer choices. They will experience symptoms, such as diarrhea, malaise, excessive gas, steatorrhoea, epigastric pain, bloating, nausea, weight loss, decrease in food interest, etc. Or even --Salmonellae- Usually experiencing gastrointestinal--They will experience vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and even blood and mucus in diarrhea, fatigue, and even headaches. Hope that helps! n_n
