What does the position of magnesium (Mg) on the periodic table tell you about how it reacts with other elements? (2 points) It is in the second column, so it tends to gain two electrons. It is in the second column, so it tends to lose two electrons. It is in the third row, so it tends to lose three electrons. It is in the third row, so it tends to gain three electrons.
what is the condition for atoms to be stable?? ever heard of octet and duplet??

Thanks! I basically have to teach everything to myself and I'm trying to study for my exam.
since they have 2 electrons at the outer orbit ... it's easy to lose 2 electrons than gain extra 6 .... so they loose 2 and become stable ...
