The local community park is designing a pool using the Golden Ratio. If the pool is 80 feet wide, about how long should it be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

95 feet 100 feet 130 feet 155 feet

OpenStudy (goformit100):

155 feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

130 feet

OpenStudy (goformit100):

@bleh123 how is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why do you think it is 155 feet? and why do you think it is 130??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isnt the golden ratio 1 to 1.618? If so, then you set up a porportion and then multiply 1.618 by 80 and get approximately 130

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what was your proportion ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80/1=x/1.618

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh okay. thanks:) so how sure are you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pretty sure

OpenStudy (goformit100):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks:) Ill choose that then! @goformit100 how did you get 155?

OpenStudy (goformit100):

@bleh123 is correct at his approach

OpenStudy (anonymous):
