Nancy drew parallelogram ABCD as shown. On the same grid she will draw parallelogram PQRS similar to parallelogram ABCD with the ratio of corresponding side lengths PQ and AB equal to 2 : 1. If the coordinates of vertex P are (-4, 4), what could be the coordinates of vertex Q?
Coordinates for the image: A(2,3), B(5,3) C(7,5), D(4,5)
@binary3i, @FoolForMath, @bleh123, @experimentX if any of you are not busy can you help me with this please<3 NO downloadings :)
try drawing a figure !!
I DID! now what??
Ah ... i was expecting you to draw figure here.
oh... haha I'm retarded
|dw:1338573712240:dw|
whats next?
-8, 8) (-4, 10) (2, 4) (8, 3) These were the choices given..
what is the length of AB??
3..
PQ must be 6
(-4,4) --- (2,4) ---- (-10,4) (-4,4) --- (-4, 10) ---(-4, -2) they all give length 6, which do you think you should choose??
they all give the same length?? then i have no idea..
just note how is AB ... vertical or horizontal?? similarly choose PQ
do you know which one i should choose?
please tell me. i really have no idea.. :/
plot AB in graph ... tell me if this is vertical or horizontal
@Blahh23 you still there?? i gotta go ... let's finish this fast
its horizontal
sorry my computer FROZE.. :/ my bad
PQ must be horizontal too .. which is horizontal?? (-4,4) --- (2,4) ---- (-10,4) <--- this one (-4,4) --- (-4, 10) ---(-4, -2) <--- or this one?? also if you get your answer ... don't forget to check length
what does the length need to be 6 ?? so it has to be horizontal and have a length of 6.. correct?
yes because PQ:AB = 2:1 so PQ must be double of AB ... and must be in same direction has AB (either horizontal or vertical)
i guess you got your answer ... gotta go!!
haha okay:) thanks
