A trapezoid is drawn on a grid with vertices at P (-5, 7), Q (-2, 7), R (2, 3), and S (-8, 3). Trapezoid UVWX will be drawn similar to Trapezoid PQRS with side WX corresponding to side RS. The point (8, -4) will be the location of vertex W and point (-12, -4) will be the location of point X. What will be the coordinates of vertex V? Show all your work or explain your reasoning.

@bleh123 yoooooo you there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Zarkon can you help me wit this? please

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Try graphing first one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did...

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Then, find the distances.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have the distances already....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a=3 , b= 5.66, c=10, d=5

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

How graph the second one.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

And use these to find the new one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please do it. this is the part where i am confused...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@saifoo.khan this is what i have so far Well the first step I did was plot this on a graph.. The length of AB= 3, BC=5.66, CD=10, & DA=5.. Then next thing is to graph WX on the graph.. The distance between WX is 20. So since side WX corresponds to RS that means V corresponds with Q...
