Please help? I think I know it but I'm not sure.


The figure shows five locations in a city. The road which connects the playground and the pharmacy is parallel to the road which connects the school with the ice-cream shop, as shown.



What is the distance between the town hall and the pharmacy?

2.0 sounds correct to me.

We essentially have two similar triangles, so their side-ratios should be equivalent:
4.5 / 3 = 3 / x
4.5x = 9
x = 2
