If a tRNA molecule has an anticodon which reads CAG, what will it match up with and what amino acid is it carrying? It is carrying glutamine and will match with a GUC codon on the mRNA. It is carrying leucine and will match with a GTC codon on the DNA. It is carrying no amino acid and will match with a UGA codon on the mRNA. It is carrying valine and will match with a GUC codon on the mRNA. I've taken this test before and I am 100% sure it's not A. Even though on the codon chart that's where it lines up.
I just checked the codon chart in my textbook (Lehninger Biochemie) and it says that GUC codes for Valine. Here's an RNA codon chart on Wikipedia: it seems to match what I have in my book. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_code#RNA_codon_table
