FInd the equation of a circle with Center: (-15,9) Tangent to x=-17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(x+15)^{2}+(y-9)^{2}=r ^{2}\] we get radius by moving from -15 to -17 ie r=2 \[(x+15)^{2}+(y-9)^{2}=2^{2}\]

that works

a sketch can really help

Wow, thank you so much :) My algebra II teacher gave us a huge packet on equations of circles but all of them with different types of problems to "study" for the final, but he never taugh us any of this :/
