Solve (x + 5 < 4) ∩ (x - 3 > -6). {x | -3 < x < -1} {x | x < -3 or x > -1} {all real numbers}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x + 5 < 4) ∩ (x - 3 > -6). (x< -1) ∩ (x > -3). ∩= Intersect,so if A ∩ B then it means the set that contains all those elements that A and B have in common (x< -1) ∩ (x > -3). have -2 in common therefore the answer is: {x | -3 < x < -1} any questions just let me know. hope that helps
