I'm going to get recording equipment, what should I buy and what do I need??
a mic!!! \m/ lol
Depends on what you are recording.
Haha voice @Seteth
Well, A mic and Software is pretty much all you need.
a good room too
acoustics need to be wonderful
otherwise there will be buzzing sounds
acoustics meaning what and what kinda software
acoustics -> sound
like music wise?
good acoustics mean that silence where no extra noise can be heard...it can be achieved using carpets
just put carpets on the walls
and roof
it will absorb any extra noise
Like if i were to clean out my closet and put carpet on the walls floor, ect?
if you can fit in the closet...
that would work then
lol i have a good sized closet :)
lol
Start off small. Download Audacity and play around with recording and mixing and matching sound clips. Once you get decent at that you can either download some plugins or purchase some better music software like Garageband. Also, invest into a great microphone and a decent mix board. Once again, start small and purchase a simple multitrack midi recorder.
I do use that stuff already :) @Michael_Moreno
@Jesusfreak2 Great start! Visit your local Guitar Center or go to their website and review their Recording Equipment section. Browse through their products and the provide a star rating on each product. Find the products that fit your price range and have a great star rating. Personally I enjoy the Professional Portable & Field Recorders, because they are great quality in sound production and can easily moved to different locations. I was in a band when I bought it, so it was great to take it with me to practices and record some sessions to listen to later.
