ok well ur equation is in the format ax^2+bx+c
so our x value of our vertex is -b/2a
which is -(-10)/2(1)=5
so the x value of our vertex is 5
Then we plug in 5 into our x an we figure out what our y value of our vertex is:
5^2-10(5)+17=-8
So our vertex is at (5,-8)
