Some people on here, are rude as can be to people who need help with something. And just so everyone knows, I hate rude people. So if I see someone being a total jerk towards someone, I will jump in and say something. -.-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please don't :) Just click on the report abuse button and let us jump upon the situation.

myininaya (myininaya):

I changed that one word to jerk because I consider the other word inappropriate. And yes just report. Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Agreed with @FoolForMath and @myininaya on this one @Kittyrae15 - the goal of OpenStudy is to provide an open, helpful learning environment. It's our job as moderators to keep the community like this - it wouldn't be fair to expect users to try and change things on their own. Also, by Reporting Abuse you basically take a 'snapshot' of the incident in question, and allow us to step in and (hopefully) make a difference. Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, good point, guys. Definitely only be rude to people if they deserve it.

myininaya (myininaya):

I disagree with that @SmoothMath . Please report rudeness and it is best not to respond. Just walk away and the moderators will take care of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Should I report myself if I'm being rude?

myininaya (myininaya):

Sure

myininaya (myininaya):

But if someone is being rude, it is likely they will not report themselves.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm a wild-card.

myininaya (myininaya):

I know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm gonna feel really hurt if my abuse-report goes ignored. =( And also if you punish me for such a bogus abuse-report. Either way, I'm gonna be mildly peeved.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just give me a warning. That way we're both happy.

myininaya (myininaya):

Lol but I didn't find it rude,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also @SmoothMath - I can assure you that everytime you report abuse, some action is taken by a moderator - be it a formal warning, a Direct Message, or some harsher action. Just because some actions are not visible, doesn't mean nothing happens. Also, regarding self-reporting, that's a call each user can make, though I don't like the odds ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Every time? What if it's not a valid report? That must happen.

myininaya (myininaya):

If a user keeps making bogus reports, we warn them because that is spamming.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Seems legit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You guys are absolutely right. I'm sorry/:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kitty, I forgive you.

myininaya (myininaya):

Please only actually report yourself if you are going against the CoC. Thanks all. :)

myininaya (myininaya):

And that goes for others too of course. Not just yourself.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I'm reporting myself without cause, then that is a violation of the CoC, which is cause for filing a report.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Logic'll getcha.

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Very witty SmoothMath, but annoying all the same. You're cluttering up my inbox, which makes me angry. And you wouldn't like me when I'm angry..... Ok, it's official, I'm never quoting Hulk again. -.-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol Okay, sorry, Bruce =( I'll stop reporting myself for a while.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I heard ducks bite when they are angry.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i thought the self abuse report was a mistake by @darthsid and never fixed it??

OpenStudy (darthsid):

I don't really make mistakes, just ... er, oversights? I'll file a bug, thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha

OpenStudy (matt6288):

Be nice or get reported! i think saying that would make the rude boy or girl shut up..?

jaynator495 (jaynator495):

@TheSmartOne do you think we should link abb0t to this? :P
