"People do so mainly for two reasons: 1- Suffering from X, 2- Experiencing Y." Is it grammatically correct? If not, how do you think the correct form would be?

"People do things for two reasons: Suffering or from experience.

1 and 2 are grammatically right....the only error is the first statement...i would prefer "People do things, mainly for two reasons:"
