The purpose of a parenthetical citation or in-text documentation is to document where you found your information. This will give credit to the authors for the use of their works, in which you may have used for your research, writing, etc. You must use a parenthetical citation for quotations, ideas that are not common knowledge, etc. (Parenthetical citation will inform and refer the reader, to where your Works Cited page is located. You will include this at the end of your paper.) Hope that helps! n_n
