The graph of the function f(x)=(4x^4-x^2+5)/(2x^4-1) has which of the following? a. a set of real solutions b. an oblique asymptote at y=2x c. a removable discontinuity------Process of elimination d a horizontal asymptote

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

how did you eliminate choice D? As x --> infinty, f(x) ---> 2 since this is the ratio of the leading coefficients of the numerator and denominator. So this means that the horizontal asymptote is y = 2

i just could never get that....thanks for your help!
