Why are vaccines ineffective against HIV?

OpenStudy (lanre):

This is because the essence of vaccination is to release antibody to fight a particular antigen, this time HIV. But virus change shape rapidly making its difficult for the antibody to attack the virus, and that is why vaccination is ineffective against HIV. Apart from this, virus multiply rapidly which increase their survival rate. Also, what HIV does is to affect all the immune systems and make the body vulnerable to different attacks by pathogens.
