Why is flow of electric current is opposite to the flow of electrons?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Current is defined as the rate of flow of positive charge. Since in solids only electrons move, and the positive ions dont move, we never talk about positive charge moving in the same direction as current. So, negative charge moves opposite to Current direction & positive charge moves in Current direction.
