A mug can hold 23.93 oz of coffee without overflowing. The radius of the mug is 4 cm. Given that 1 cm3 equals 0.034 oz, what is the height of the mug to the nearest centimeter? how can i solve this>?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well at first since 1cm^3=0.034oz then total volume is v=23.93/0.034 which is 703.82 and this also equal to the volume of the mug so u can use the formula foe the volume of the cylinder ie pie r^2h which is equal to the volume of the cooffee

and i got the answer 13.99 which is almost equal to 14 cm^3

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

The shape of the mug is cylindrical shape. so volume of it is pi*r^2*h. U r given that 1cm^3=0.034oz So divide 23.93 by 0.034 to get the volume in cm^3. |dw:1338839190655:dw|
