One similarity between work and power is that in order to calculate both you must know time. velocity. energy. force.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Power is work over time. In the invariant case:\[P=\frac Wt\]where \(W,P,t\) are work, power, and time respectively. More structurally you can say\[W=\int P\,dt\]therefore, to relate the two, you need time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Work and power are different because work involves force and distance while power involves force and velocity. work involves distance and mass while power involves distance and time. work involves energy and time while power involves force and mass. work involves velocity and time while power involves energy and force.
