The picture shows a barn door. What is the length of the bar AC?
Pls show me how to do it.
Look at the figure ABC. It is a triangle. And what is AB? Using your knowledge of sine, cosine, 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 triangles, can you solve for AC?
AB is 6ft. so how do i put sine and cos to use? I know that i have to use the 30-60-90 rule but how?
Well, sine and cosine are what make the 30-60-90 rule possible; they make the triangle have sides that have fixed ratios. The shortest side is the one across from the 30 degree angle. The hypotenuse is twice the length of the shortest side. The Remaining leg, which is the middle length side, has a length of sqrt(3) multiplied by the shortest leg. Check out this link if you want more understanding of 30-60-90: http://www.mathopenref.com/triangle306090.html
Okay so when i do that what would my answer be?
Solve it out on here (either by typing or drawing) and I'll check your work. I can't straight up tell you the answer because otherwise you can't learn.

Am i doing it right?
