In the first question, what's the distance of the the line between the brackets? Or how long is the distance from one end of the bracket to the other?

Ok easier question, where does the bracket start and where does it end?

-3x-1=5
3x=-6 => x=-2

second qst
2x=4 => x=2

calculate the distance between points
if a<b the distance is b-a
then make the distance equal to the given equation

She didn't explain anything. From what I've read you don't even know how to get the distance between two points, how are you supposed to understand this?
