A certain gene in a chromosome has the following sequence of nucleotides: ACC/TTA/GGC/CCT/TCA/CCC/CGG/AGT/TTT AAA. How many codons are in the gene ?

There are three bases in each codon. So to get the the total number of codons, you count the nucleotides - the individual A, C, T, G s - and divide that number by three.
