The transit happens in 8-year pairs, except for sometimes it happens in singles, but that happens only rarely, the last one I think was 1300s

FYI, From the 16th to 30th century, transit of Venus always occur in the same pair are 8 years apart, the time interval between consecutive pairs alternates between 105.5 years and 121.5 years.
