Feature request: Sending notification to the user when his/her abuse report is attended by a moderator. I often receive direct messages from our users inquiring about whether or not their abuse report is being attended. I think our users deserve to know about what we are doing with their reports. I propose notifying the user(s) (who filed the report) when a moderator takes action. The notification should only say if it is "helpful" or "rejected". It may or may not mention the cause the rejection or acceptation without going into details of the moderator action (warning or punishment issued) I would love to hear what others think about this proposal. Regards,
I accept your proposal. ;D
Reply to the post so I could medal you :)
anyway...it's a good idea i guess...i suppose the punishment wont be stated/
You should have posted it in the feedback on the left.
Guys, please don't make this another chat thread :)
Really great idea, FFM.
I wouldn't be too opposed to this idea. Would be a pain to give our mods another button they have to press though. :\
how about a passive button?
^by that i mean let's say when a report is reported there will be some buttons "trash" and "respong"
when a mod clicks either then a fixed message will be sent to the reporter
I had proposed something similar to this to @mattfeury and I don't think clicking a button will be too painful for us :)
it'spainful for the dev team...too much latex and CADs lol
Hm. It's a bit of an issue. How would we do that?
Just have a list of abuse reports and click when you've attended to it? Or would following a link from an abuse report inform a user that their report is being looked at?
isnt it the admins' specialty to indirectly resolve problems? hmm.
@shadowfiend: Using the available features of our dashboard I propose something like this: FoolForMath At Wed Jun 06 14:58:15 UTC 2012, user 'foolformath' reported this post: This is a very offensive post. <This is followed by two buttons:> [Helpful] [Declined] <Here we may give a little bit of space for reasons or comments> As soon as the moderator takes an action user who filed the report gets a notification : " Your abuse report <...> is <deemed helpful/declined> as ...."
Seems reasonable, from my perspective. I don't know all that mods do o helpful or annoying this would be, but as a user it seems good.
*or how helpful
the only problem is the complexity :S
Doesn't seem that complex to me, but I'm not coding or designing the interface.
well buttons are not that easy and additional buttons are hassle lol
Additionally when an abuse report is acted upon the buttons will cease to be available or change color to indicate that it doesn't need any further attention from a different moderator thus saving much valuable time of our moderators.
ME gusta idea!!
I accept your proposal.
